If you're old enough to remember Saturday Night Live in the 80's, there was a recurring segment called "Deep Thoughts" where Jack Handey would muse about different topics. The segment instantly became popular and seems like the perfect reference to a strange, yet somehow cathartic group of messages spotted on the sign of a Portland parking garage.

Sent in to us by one of our listeners, the parking garage near the Portland Harbor Hotel has an electronic sign that occasionally will post funny things. One day last week, whomever programs the sign clearly had a "Deep Thoughts" moment as they considered options for getting a haircut.

Shaving your head during a pandemic is an easy out as long as you're comfortable with nobody laying eyes on you as your hair attempts to grow back. That's the punchline to this "Deep Thoughts" moment, as the person behind these messages realizes that shaving their head bald would not be a pretty sight.

Unless of course you're into unwatered chia pets. This is one of those unfiltered moments that has happened during the pandemic that we kind of hope sticks around once we get through this thing. More unfiltered deep thoughts from a Portland parking garage please.

ps. the barber will see you now.
