Queens of the Stone Age Return to Rock Portland, Maine This August
It's been a little under six years since Queens of the Stone Age has visited Portland, Maine. Their 2017 show at the State Theater was memorable for several reasons. That October show was sandwiched between two arena gigs in Boston and New York City with the Portland show selling out almost instantly.
On the night of the show, frontman Josh Homme powered through an injury to deliver a performance that fans still talk about in the area. Queens of the Stone Age are set to return to Portland, this time at the Cross Insurance Arena, on Friday, August 11.
Queens of the Stone Age are touring in support of their forthcoming eighth studio album "In Times New Roman..." which is due to hit stores on June 16. The lead single "Emotion Sickness" is an ode to the personal struggles Homme has been dealing with a very public and very ugly divorce.
When Queens of the Stone Age visited Portland in 2017, they brought a buzzworthy opener in Royal Blood. Queens will do the same again in 2023 as Phantogram will be direct support for the tour, including the August 11 date.
Tickets will go on sale for Queens of the Stone Age and Phantogram at the Cross Insurance Arena on Friday, June 9. There will be a presale from 10am to 10pm on Thursday, June 8. More details can be found here.
WCYY is celebrating the show announcement with Queens all-day Friday. From 10am through 5pm, we'll spin a Queens of the Stone Age track once per hour. Be caller 9 at 207-792-9299 and you score a pair of tickets to the August 11 show.
