IT'S FINALLY SPRING!!! I've been waiting for this moment since... well... Fall, if I'm being honest.

In celebration of the turning of the seasons, here's this week's list of stuff to go check out!

THURSDAY 3/22

Peter Mulvey w/ Lyle Brewer
One Longfellow Square (Portland)
7:00pm Doors - 8:00pm Show
$14 Advance, $18 Day of Show
All Ages
- Peter Mulvey has had quite the musical journey. He started out in Milwaukee, WI, found himself rising to stardom in Dublin, Ireland, and made his ways back to the US and settled in Boston. All of this travel influences his broad, power folk-rock sound.

FRIDAY 3/23

The 2nd Annual Celebration of David Bowie: Isolar 2
Port City Music Hall (Portland)
8:00pm Doors – 9:00pm Show
$10 Advance / $12 Day of Show
18+
- Seriously, who wouldn't wanna go check out a David Bowie tribute? Tons of local musicians are coming together to celebrate the music of the legend, and KGFREEZE is even set to bust out some Iggy Pop. Get on it, fam.

Live @ 212 Presents: Ax-Coustic
Live @ 212 (Westbrook)
7:00pm Show
$5 Cover
21+
- There's an old saying that unplugging is the true test of how good a rock band is - taking away the big amps and getting the crowd right up on them reveals how they truly sound. You won't have to worry about any of the bands playing this event, though. They're tried and true, and ready to shred... Just quietly.

SATURDAY 3/24

New Politics w/ Dreamers, The Wrecks
State Theatre (Portland)
7:00pm Doors - 8:00pm Show
$23 Advance, $25 Day of Show
All Ages
- We're super pumped for this show here at CYY. New Politics is putting out some of the coolest alternative music out there at the moment, and it'll be great to get a glimpse of what they've got in person.

They Called Me Legion w/ Cape Cannons and Savor
Bangor Arts Exchange Ballroom (Bangor)
8:30pm Doors - 9:00pm Show
$5 Advance, $7 Day of Show
All Ages
- The BAE Ballroom is proving to be one of the coolest new venues in Maine, proving an equally adequate host for art installations and rock bands alike. Speaking of the latter, they've got a great selection this week, from All Roads vets through bands hoofing it up from Portland.

Skyfoot w/ The Funky Dawgs Brass Band
Empire (Portland)
9:00pm Doors – 10:00pm Show
$7 Advance, $10 Day of Show
21+
- For those looking to get down with the groove, look no further. Skyfoot is an awesome Boston-based funk band, and The Funky Dawgs bring some real weight with their full compliment of horns. Might I recommend bringing some Bootsy Collins-style glasses to the affair.

That's what I've got for this week! Enjoy the warmth, CYY peeps - you've earned it.
