Wait, it's Memorial Day Weekend already?! That happened fast! Summer has never been more welcome. Seriously - after that winter we had, even Florida seems appealing. - Apocalyptica has been one of the coolest bands in the rock world for a while - mainly because they play rock with cellos. How is that not more popular?! The band is currently touring playing the music of one of their biggest influences, Metallica. Badass? Completely.

- The concert season at Thompson's Point is kicking off with one of our favorite bands at CYY at the moment - the wonderfully weird Portugal. The Man! The weather isn't looking the best at the moment, but a little rain never hurt anybody.

- King Kyote has been making waves in the Portland area for a while now, and with good reason- his bluesy, rootsy sound has plenty of rock punch. Aubrey Haddard has gotten some love from NPR Music recently, and has the songwriting strength to back it up. Bottom line? Check this one out.
