‘Robot Chicken’ Will Shamble Out a Full ‘Walking Dead’ Special
We’ve seen Robot Chicken give the full-length parody treatment from Star Wars to DC comics a few times over, and now The Walking Dead will finally get its due. Robot Chicken will load its crossbow for a full special focused on the AMC zombie thriller, with Robert Kirkman aboard as well.
Adult Swim would only confirm few details of the special outright, most notably that the special would run a full half-hour at an unspecified airdate. In addition to comic creator Robert Kirkman working with Robot Chicken showrunners Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, so too will Walking Dead showrunner Scott M. Gimple.
For his part, Kirkman has actually worked with Robot Chicken before, popping up in 2012 sketch “Zombie Love.” Adult Swim also took the opportunity to confirm the return of Genndy Tartakovsky’s Samurai Jack, as well as a half-hour live-action pilot from Rick and Morty and Community boss Dan Harmon, called Art Prison.
No word if the Robot Chicken special would beat The Walking Dead Season 7 to the punch (the Negan mystery might get some serious shade regardless), but would you check out the stop-motion animated comedy’s take on The Walking Dead?
