New Restaurant Moving In Next to Chipotle in Westbrook, Maine

While other cities in Maine have been struck by some commercial regression, Westbrook has been the opposite. The city has seen tremendous commercial growth over the last decade and the future continues to look bright.

Much of that growth has been on display at Rock Row, where a brand new medical campus just recently opened. Rock Row's next phase will include more commercial projects, including the first Cinemark location in Maine.

But there are more new businesses heading to Westbrook outside of Rock Row including a new restaurant with plans to open right across the street.

Oola Bowls Plans First Maine Location in Westbrook Next to Chipotle

Initially launched as a food truck in Pennsylvania, Oola Bowls is a quick-service restaurant that specializes in acai bowls. The company only started a few short years ago but is already in the midst of a major expansion.

The nutritious acai bowls will be the focus of Oola Bowls but they'll also offer a variety of other products as well. Smoothies, small bites and fresh brewed coffee is also on the menu at their other locations. They'll be opening in the Kohl's Plaza right next to Chipotle.

Competition For Oola Bowls Will Be Right Across the Street

If a quick-service restaurant specializing in nutritious acai bowls sounds awfully familiar, you'd be correct. Another restaurant chain is on the precipice of their grand opening at Rock Row that plans to have very similar offerings.

That would be Playa Bowls. It's one of the fastest-growing chains in America, offering up specialties like acai and pitaya bowls, juices, smoothies and more. They've been hiring employees and plan a grand opening sometime this spring in Westbrook.
