Rustic Overtones Playing Album Anniversary Show in Portland, Maine
There are a handful of bands that are synonymous with local music in Maine and one of those bands is unquestionably Rustic Overtones.
The journey hasn't been easy for Rustic Overtones. From self-financed tours to band shakeups to the tragic passing of trombonist Dave Noyes', there's a really incredible documentary to be made sometime in the future.
But for those that love the music Rustic has churned out over several decades, they're always willing to celebrate a milestone with the band. Rustic Overtones plans to do just that this November in Portland, Maine.

¡Viva Nueva! Remains a Beacon For Rustic Overtones Longtime Fans
For better or worse, ¡Viva Nueva! remains a defining album for Rustic Overtones. There's very little argument amongst fans and even some critics that it should have been their breakthrough into the mainstream.
But for some, ¡Viva Nueva! is looked at like a swan song. Rustic's members faced intense frustration and disappointment over multiple years at major record label fallout that led to the band's decision to breakup in 2002.
Rustic Overtones did return in 2007 with a spectacular patio show in Monument Square and has continued to make music and perform shows throughout the country.
