Scott Weiland was back in the headlines this week, but it wasn't for the promotion of his new album Blaster. Rather, the rocker upset several fans at a VIP meet-and-greet in Boston with his behavior.

On the Stone Temple Pilots Below Empty forum, a number of the VIP ticket holders from the event expressed their dissatisfaction with Weiland and how the rocker treated those who paid to get a chance to meet him.

One forum user stated that Weiland put his arm around him and said, "Let's get this s--t done with" as he was getting ready to pose for a photo. Another fan stated that Weiland greeted him by stating, "Let's suck a d--k!" and that was his interaction. And a third fan posted that Weiland shrugged off a compliment then grumbled about the time it took to take a photo.

While many forum posters praised the band for their show that night and how cool the rest of the Wildabouts band members were, Weiland definitely left a bad impression on a few of those who turned out to meet him.

The rocker has now posted on his Facebook page an apology for his actions. It reads as follows:

I would like to make a sincere apology to the fans that were at the meet and greet in Boston. I’m embarrassed by my behavior and some of the things that I said. Fans don’t deserve that. Without our fans and supporters, we would not be able to do what we’re doing. I put my all into the show that night and honestly was just beyond exhausted…either way, I acted like a total a--hole and for that I’m truly sorry. - Scott

It is possible that Weiland was having a bad night as some posters have pointed out and there is some validity to his being exhausted as the show was the last date of their recent tour leg. But regardless, that's not the behavior you expect from a VIP meet-and-greet.

The band will catch a breather for a few weeks before starting up again on April 25 at the Welcome to Rockville festival in Jacksonville, Fla. Weiland's new album Blaster drops on March 31. It's currently available for pre-order at Amazon and iTunes.
