Sea Dog Brewing Closing One of Their South Portland, Maine, Locations Permanently
Perhaps it just isn't meant to be. Many years ago, an ambitious entrepreneur took a spot along the busy Broadway stretch of South Portland and turned it into a bustling bowling alley, restaurant, and bar. Opening in 2014, it was initially called Easy Day, and curious patrons flocked to check out a new place to visit and thing to do.
Five years later, it was sold and transformed into the most unique location of the popular Sea Dog Brewing Company family. Not only were the popular brewpub dishes and beer found at other locations available, but you could bowl and hold events at the Broadway location. But just like Easy Day, it just hasn't worked out.
Shared on Facebook by Sea Dog Brewing, the company plans to close their location at 725 Broadway in South Portland permanently three years after they took over. The final day of operation will be Wednesday, April 12. Any memberships, gift cards or loyalty points will be honored at other Sea Dog Brewing locations.
While the Sea Dog Brewing brand will no longer operate the facility, Sea Dog is hopeful that someone has a vision of what it could be or become. They're encouraging any potential business owners or partners to contact them about potential opportunities with the space.
The other Sea Dog Brewing location near the Maine Mall on Western Avenue will remain open and operational. Sea Dog also just recently opened a new location at the former Famous Dave's location inside the Cabela's plaza in Scarborough.
