The projector will be off and the lights up in a theater at Smitty's Cinema in Windham, when The Best of the Boston Comedy Festival comes for a night of stand-up comedy on Friday, August 19.

The show will be hosted by comedian Jim McCue who is also the founder of the Boston Comedy Festival which has been taking place for 23 years. His Nothing Personal special on DryBar Comedy's streaming channel had over 4 million views. He's also been featured on Comedy Central, NBC's Last Comic Standing and has toured all over the world putting on shows for U.S. troops. His book Embedded Comedian tells the stories of some of his adventures. He's also performed with some big names in comedy like, Bill Burr, Joe Rogan, Lewis Black, Patrice O'Neil, and Marc Maron.

Comedian Jessie Baade will also appear.

Tickets for the show are on sale now on Smitty's Website for $20 plus a $1.75 fee. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the comedians take the stage at 7 p.m. The full Smitty's drink, cocktail, and food menu will be available when you arrive.

If I may make a suggestion, I thoroughly enjoy the six-cheese bacon mac & cheese. It's baked with elbow pasta in white cheddar with asiago, Romano, mozzarella, Monterey jack, and Parmesan. Throw in there a ton of some bacon bits and it's topped with a panko crust. I say splurge and add the grilled chicken for $4. Worth every penny. Food, drinks and comedy. That's a fun night out right there.
