On Wednesday, The New Gloucester Park and Recreation Department found that someone had driven through Fairgrounds Park and tore up grass and the parking area during their little adventure. So, to keep people from doing this, the gate is now closed.

Visitors are still welcome to use the grounds and track to exercise and get outside for fresh air, but gate will be locked until further notice to keep this from happening again, because people just can't be respectful.

If you're the one who did this, you must be bored. I get it. Right now we can't do all the things we used to, but before you decide to go out and tear it up in a public park, stop and think about all the other people who use it and enjoy it. Next time, go rip up your own backyard.
