Serious question, though. Are we all...okay?

Look, since the mid-to-late 90s when the internet started becoming more of a thing and after asking A/S/L went out of style, we all started slowly morphing into keyboard warriors. Suddenly, people who would keep to themselves and mind their business felt the need to voice their opinion. About everything.

Opinions are like...well, you know the saying

And here we are in 2022, where it's impossible to say or post anything without at least one person trying to tear it down. Literally with seemingly no reason other than to just do it. I mean, quite honestly, the fact that this is even an article I'm writing about is kind of pathetic, because this shouldn't even be a thing.

But here we are. And so is TC, the manager of the Bangor Police Department Facebook page.

Who gets mad over people posing with a stuffed duck?

Over the last couple of weeks, the Bangor Police Department Facebook page has posted a bunch of pictures of both locals and tourists visiting what they consider "the third most famous duck in the world" -- the Duck of Justice. The Duck of Justice (more simply referred to as the DOJ) is nothing more than a stuffed duck that sits inside of the Bangor PD headquarters.

Much like the Paul Bunyan Statue and the L.L. Bean Boot, the DOJ is just one of those random Maine attractions that people like taking a picture with. And generally, to show the love their own DOJ gets, the Bangor PD Facebook page posts the pictures they take of said people visiting said duck. No big deal, right?

Well, apparently, it is.

Because according to a post a couple of days ago by TC on the Bangor PD Facebook page, the comments section of said posts of said people with said duck started blowing up with smack talk. And honestly, it has to be contributed to the fact that people are still suffering the effects of the heat making them delirious and cranky.

BECAUSE WHO TALKS SMACK ABOUT PEOPLE POSING WITH A DUCK AND THE POLICE DEPARTMENT THAT HAS FUN POSTING ABOUT IT?

Would you prefer Bangor PD spends their time pulling us Mainers over to meet the quotas we all bash? Would you rather them do nothing but post about crime, deaths, and whatever other negative stuff we can get just by turning on the nightly news? Heaven forbid those that serve and protect us also entertain us with some outside-the-box humor.

ABOUT A DUCK. PEOPLE ARE GETTING UPSET OVER PICTURES OF A STUFFED DUCK.

Finally, TC got fed up and used the Bangor PD Facebook page to say what a lot of people have been asking for years -- "Do you remember when people who didn't like something merely walked by without saying anything?"

Just remember. At the end of the day -- it's a stuffed duck. Let the visitors and the Bangor PD live their best Duck of Justice life. And make sure if you're taking a picture with the DOJ, you get the Dangle right.
