23 years ago, WCYY hosted one of the biggest and most memorable Holiday Bizarre concerts with Nickelback, Saliva, Default, Jeremiah Freed and Bad Ronald.

You may have found yourself among the lucky few who get to see an amphitheater-level band in a small club before they break out and become huge mainstream stars. Well, about 200 people got to do just that 20 years ago when WCYY welcomed My Chemical Romance to be part of our annual Holiday Bizarre.

Back in 2000, the WCYY Holiday Bizarre brought Orgy, Disturbed, and Maine’s own Rustic Overtones and 6Gig to a sold-out crowd of 7,500 at the Cumberland County Civic Center. It was a night of adrenaline, chaos, and unforgettable rock energy.

WCYY's 2006 Holiday Bizarre was a big one. We welcomed back Disturbed along with Stone Sour, Flyleaf and Nonpoint. We had all 4 bands come by the radio station to chat on the air and perform for some lucky winners before the big event at the Cumberland County Civic Center.
