The snow is still expected to have a total snow of 12-18 inches in southern New Hampshire and southern Maine before tapering off late in the afternoon.
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the entire area as the National Weather Service is expecting snow to fall heavy at times between late Saturday night and most of Sunday.
Jennifer Foxlow was deep in the woods at Vaughan Woods State Park in South Berwick, and sniffed out by K9 Luna of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife.
"School administrators work diligently each morning to find substitutes for classes in need of coverage. With the lack of substitutes this has been a challenge," superintendent William Harbron wrote in a letter.
