Taste of Maine, Woolwich

The signs of summer in Maine pop up quickly.

While we’re still fending off snowstorms in the odd muddy months of April, our favorite ice cream shops start slinging cold serve, Iocals start whipping out the shorts in 50-degree weather, and seafood favorites like Taste of Maine open their doors.

A crowd-pleaser since 1978, the family-run restaurant in Woolwich has been serving Mainers and tourists some of the best seafood in the state for decades.

According to their website, they have been voted the #1 lobster roll in Maine by Down East Magazine. Whether this is because it genuinely tastes good or because it’s the largest in the world, that is up to you to decide.

World’s Largest Lobster Roll

It only makes sense that Maine would have the world’s largest lobster roll. Whether you’re born here or visiting, it’s hard not to think about the red marine crustacean when you hear our state’s name.

The massive summer sub is more than three times the size of the lobster roll you’re going to get anywhere else. A common complaint when someone orders this classic summer cuisine elsewhere is that they “didn’t get enough lobster” or got ripped off. That will never be the case with this order.

Would you take it down yourself or share it with others?

Taste of Maine Reopening 2022

Try it out yourself this summer. The famous seafood joint is reopening its doors on April 28 for the season and both Mainers and tourists alike could not be more excited. They posted on Facebook about their reopening and it pleased the masses with more than 500 likes, 100+ comments, and almost 200 shares.
