Thanks to CMP, Kids Can Now Visit Maine Maritime Museum for Free

There are some pretty significant changes happening at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, and by the sound of it, it's going to be a several-year endeavor.

According to the Wiscasset Newspaper, thanks to a generous donation from Central Maine Power, admission to the museum will be waived for those ages 17 and under through 2026.

Additionally, anyone who receives SNAP/EBT benefits can show their EBT card at the front desk to receive free admission for up to four people during regular business hours, the newspaper stated.

The Maine Maritime Museum has several indoor and outdoor exhibits, and the Wiscasset Newspaper notes two new exhibits you can check out. They are Arthur Beaumont: Art of the Sea and Cotton Town: Maine's Economic Connections to Slavery.

The newspaper reported that these pop-up exhibits will be open thru spring of 2022.

Another neat thing about the Maine Maritime Museum is it is open year-round, giving Mainers and their guests things to explore even during the state's harsh winters.

Now, this isn't the first time Central Maine Power has made a significant donation to the Maine Maritime Museum.

Back in 2019, according to CMP's website, they donated to a project that helped complete the redevelopment of the main buildings' front entrance as well as the south side of the campus.
