The name of the geographical center of the US is perfectly named.

According to Pop Science, the center of the US is located in North Dakota in a town called Center.  It's name is derived from the fact that it IS the center of something, but not the US.  It's the center of its county, hence the name.  They even have a website that proclaims this distinction!

That got me to thinking, What is the center of Maine?  Do we have a town called Center that is the center of Maine?

The internet says the center of Maine is located 18 miles north of Dover-Foxcroft , where there aren't many towns, just wide open spaces.  Thought you might like to know.  Although I'm certain we could easily point out a friend who thinks THEY are the center of attention.
