I like ice cream. I like it even better with a sense of humor.

Nothing fits the bill more than The Scoop Deck in Wells. Around since the 80's, this is where you go if you like gigantic portions of ice cream. They don't make their own, but get it from Blake's in New Hampshire and sometimes Gifford's ice cream made right here in Maine.

And there are a ton of flavors to choose from.

It's the hardest part of your visit, picking the flavor. Then you have to pick your size. Be careful - no matter what size, it will be WAY bigger than you could ever imagine.

I got the kiddie cone and as I was carrying it away, I told a stranger in line, 'That's a kiddie cone!' There are waffle cones, the basic cardboard tasting cone or a sugar cone. Or there's a dish. Or there's a sampler. It's basically a whole bunch of kiddie scoops. I didn't get that, but I saw one and had to snap a picture.

Two people shared this. Just two.

But my favorite part of the Scoop Deck is the attitude. Just read the warning to get a sense of their sense of humor.

You drop it...well, that's on you. I think the smart move is a waffle cone as it's like cradling your ice cream baby in swaddling. The sugar cone is the best cone, but super tiny for the two scoops of large. You have to be talented and dedicated and focused and you can do it!

The Scoop Deck truly is 'legen dairy' and well worth the trip from wherever you are.
