This Fancy $80,000 Electric Car is Only Sold in 12 States, Including New Hampshire
The California emissions law bans the sale of new gas-powered vehicles by the year 2035. Many states have followed suit, including the New England states of Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Connecticut. This is the beginning of the rush to get electric vehicles out into the public, but it's not that easy.
While Tesla is the most well-known EV producer, it's not the only option.
In fact, there's a new version of the luxury line Genesis, which is getting good reviews from Car & Driver Magazine.
The 2023 Genesis Electrified G80 is the new electric version of the G80 Sedan, and has a price tag of $80,000. While it's a heavier car than the G80, it tries to be lighter by changing some of the steel features to aluminum or carbon fiber. Still, the electric version is over 500 pounds heavier than its gas powered sibling.
The interior is beautiful with a retro feel. The exterior boasts a diamond-shaped grill which camouflages the charger in the front of the vehicle.
The new Genesis Electrified G80 is only sold in 12 states, including the New England states of Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire.
The torque converts 4.1 seconds to 60 mph, and the cabin is quiet. While the price tag is high, the supply is very limited to start.
Electric vehicles are the future, and with GMC vowing to have most all of their new vehicles electric by 2035, and Mercedes Benz by 2030, according to kkb.com, it's only a matter of time before we'll all be looking at EV's.
KKB.com also says when 5% of the population buys electric vehicles, that's the tipping point for others to follow along, quickly accelerating electric vehicle sales.
