This Misunderstood Wolf Spider Found in Kennebunk, Maine, Will Give You Chills

Wildlife in Maine. Let's talk about it, shall we? It's beautiful and grand, and so many of our animals help our planet stay strong. Some are misunderstood, and today, we're going to talk about one of those creatures.

This does remind me of an article I wrote, All These Wolf Spiders Trespassing in My Maine Home Are Pure Nightmare Fuel. At that time, I was scared to death of spiders. But I was able to learn about them, and have changed my ways. I no longer crush these little guys. I save them because they are not harmful, and the benefits outweigh their ugliness.

Benjamin Klaver shared on Maine Wildlife Facebook Page that he ran into a wolf spider in Kennebunk. His post said the following,

So there I was in Kennebunk yesterday, looking at a stump to see if there was anything interesting to photograph. All of the sudden, movement caught my eye. A super-cute Lycosidae sp.! I tried to get a little closer to take some better shots, but it wasn't as interested in that happening as I was. I was pretty excited to see this one. My spider ID friends have helped identify this as Hogna frondicola. I hope you all can appreciate the beauty of this super-cool wolf spider.

He is trying to open people's eyes to appreciating this spider. He's opened mine even more.
