As the effects of the pandemic continue to take their toll on the bottom lines of businesses across Maine, another longtime restaurant in the Biddeford/Saco area is set to close. According to Saco Bay News, Tin Tin Buffet located at 420 Alfred Street in Biddeford will close on Friday, July 31st with the hope that the restaurant can reopen sometime in the spring of 2021. But that isn't a certainty.

Like so many other restaurants in Maine, Tin Tin Buffet altered their business model when it became clear that dining-in, especially in southern Maine, was going to face some serious obstacles. Unfortunately for Tin Tin, their takeout business and reduced indoor dining just didn't produce the cash flow to keep the restaurant open at limited capacity. They'll shut down to limit operational expenses with designs to reopen in the spring of 2021 as long as they can do at full capacity. If the coronavirus isn't under control or there isn't a vaccine readily available, it's likely the restaurant will close permanently.

Tin Tin Buffet is another restaurant in a long line of closures in the hard hit Biddeford/Saco area. Major chains have closed in the two cities since the pandemic began, including locations of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, Pizza Hut and Denny's.
