
Veranda Thai in Portland, Maine, Plans Expansion Into The Old Port
There's a curious stretch of prime commercial real estate along Fore Street in Portland, Maine, that can't seem to sustain businesses.
The official address is 425 Fore Street, across from places like Fore Play and Central Provisions in a busy area of the Old Port.

Gelato Fiasco has been the only businesses that has managed to keep churning over the last several years while many of surrounding restaurants have come and gone.
Currently, 425 Fore Street is home to a pair of new restaurants. Ladyfish, which is a seasonal pop-up seafood spot and Barkada, a Filipino restaurant that hopes to firm establish themselves.
Soon, there will be another restaurant joining them and this one will come with some name recognition.
Veranda Thai Will Open A New Spot in Portland, Maine, Again
According to MaineBiz, the Veranda Group has leased space at 425 Fore Street with plans to open a new restaurant.
The Veranda Group's holdings include Veranda Thai restaurant as well as Veranda Thai Kitchen in Westbrook, Maine.

There has been no official announcement by the Veranda Group as to what the new restaurant will be called or when they expect to have their grand opening as of this writing.
This Isn't The First Time Veranda Thai Expanding Into Portland, Maine's Old Port
In 2015, Veranda Thai first tried their hand at expansion in Portland's Old Port by opening a location at 245 Commercial Street.
That business was initially called Veranda Noodle House and instantly became a hit. Several years ago, a member of the Veranda Group family bought out others and renamed the business Old Port Noodle House.
It is unknown when the new Veranda Group restaurant will operate like Veranda Thai and Veranda Thai Kitchen or will focus on a limited menu instead.
