Maine Haunted Attraction Offers ‘Last Ride’ Inside Coffin
Throughout a large portion of the fall season, many spots in Maine full embrace all things Halloween.
From corn mazes to costume contests to full blown haunted attractions, you don't have to travel far to find something that could qualify as spooky.
For true Halloween enthusiasts, they're always looking for something new. Sure, a frightening haunted house or a creepy haunted walk scratches an itch. But if there's something uniquely macabre, there's an audience eagerly waiting.
One haunted attraction in Auburn, Maine, wants to test that theory.
Wallingford's Nightmare on the Ridge Introduced The 'Last Ride' Experience
For about the last decade, Wallingford's Fruit House in Auburn, Maine, has been offering an evening Halloween attraction called 'Nightmare on the Ridge'.
The attraction itself can be frightening enough. A mix of animatronics, live actors and plenty of jump scares can offer up goosebumps to even those with the thickest of skin.
But in 2025, Wallingford's is going to push the envelope even further. They are offering up a truly 'death defying' experience meant for those who truly don't scare easily. Or at all.
It's called the 'Last Ride'.
The 'Last Ride' is the Ultimate Simulated Burial Experience
Wallingford's 'Last Ride' welcomes an unwavering guest to take a trip enclosed in a double-wide coffin.
The entire trip is a simulation that the entombed guest will be taking their last ride to their final resting place.
Your coffin will placed in a hearse and you'll be dropped off at your pre-dug for a final burial.
Inside the coffin, you'll experience the feeling of being lowered into a grave with dirt being tossed over the coffin as your time expires.
Your Friends, Family and Even Strangers Will Be Able To Watch It All
While trapped inside the coffin, everyone outside of the small enclosure will be able to watch your own personal horror unfold.
Strategically placed cameras will broadcast the entire 'Last Ride' to whomever cares to watch it.
Perhaps the best part? To try to this once-in-a-lifetime experience, the cost is only $5.
