A new phone scam is making the rounds throughout Southern Maine and the Department of Health and Human Services reminds you they they will never ask for your personal information such as social security numbers or birth dates.

An article in the Journal Tribune says the calls have been making the rounds in Southern Maine.

A prerecorded message states that the call is from DHHS and asks for your personal information. Do not say anything. Just hang up.

If you believe you have received one of these calls. please contact DHHS Constituent Services; Scott.Perkins@maine.gov, or call 207.287.5846
