New Neighborhood Market Set to Open in Westbrook, Maine
For most people across Maine, they are never too far from a big grocery store. Whether that be Hannaford, Shaw's, Market Basket or an IGA, there's generally a quality food source within a short drive for everyone.
While major supermarkets are necessary, many of Maine's communities continue to enjoy smaller, neighborhood markets. The kind of places that offer meats, cheeses and light groceries and offer convenience and consistency.
One of those places is coming to Westbrook. Shared on Facebook, Mainely Provisions has announced they are planning to open their third location in the state in Westbrook in the not-too-distant future.
Mainely Provisions will be taking over the space formerly known as Digby's. The variety store operated for nearly 30 years as a place to grab a quick lunch, lottery tickets or a cold drink. Now, it'll transform into a neighborhood market that will offer some of those same things and much more.
Mainely Provisions other locations in Bethel and Kingfield should give a glimpse into what Westbrook and Gorham residents can expect from the new market. At other locations they offer fresh cut meats, organic produce, bakery items as well as a wide selection of beer, wine and other libations.
Mainely Provisions has stated that they'll need to do extensive work to the former Digby's location over the next several weeks and months. An update on when their grand opening will be is coming at a later date.
Mainely Provisions is also inviting future visitors to offer up suggestions for items or things they'd like to see at the new location in Westbrook.
