Many people are excited about the grand opening of the greater Portland area's first Market Basket in Westbrook. Its opening has been delayed at least two times before, from November of last year to June, 2020. June has come and gone, and it is still not open. Now, we're hearing of another delay, because of the coronavirus pandemic. WMTW is reporting that the "timeline has been thrown off by complications" from COVID-19. David McLean, the operations manager of the supermarket told the news station "they are getting closer" to opening. However, an official date has not been set.

The new Market Basket is located at Rock Row in Westbrook. The area will also reportedly feature a 12-screen movie theater, Starbucks and The Paper Store, along with other businesses, according to the Portland Press Herald.
