One of the most popular events of last winter was Ice Palaces in Boothbay.  Visitors had a chance to tour illuminated ice sculptures while snacking on food from a variety of food trucks.  Given all that was going on at the time, it was a fun way to spend some quality time with the family.

For the last month or so, thousands of Mainers, and visitors to our state, have experienced the wonder of the Ice Palaces of Bethel.

Sadly, this weekend will be your last chance to visit the winter attraction.  The good news is that the weather will be decent for the remainder of the week.  A mix of sun (or Moon) and clouds and temps will be in the 20s and 30s.

This year, the event moves from the coast of Maine to the mountains of Maine.  Northeast Ice Palaces will be located at the Bethel Outdoor Adventure Campground on Mayville Road in Bethel.  This new location will allow for even more palaces.

Just as they did last year, the plan is for several food trucks to be set up at the attraction.  The specific food trucks are subject to change, but organizers are planning to truck that sell BBQ, Mexican food, and snack foods (French fries, fried dough, etc)

Weather permitting, they plan to be open Wednesdays through Sundays.  They are also planning to have two sessions.  The afternoon session will run from Noon to 4 PM.  The evening session will run from 4 to 9:30.

Tickets for the afternoon (day) sessions will be $15.  Tickets for the night session (when you get the best experience) will be $19.

Because the event is really weather depending, your best bet is to keep an eye on their website for all the details.

If you never had a chance to go last year, the following news report will give you a pretty good idea of what the attraction is like.

If there is a park that needs to be on our list, let us know by messaging us through our app or on Facebook. Given the on-going COVID-19 crisis, and the fact the attractions are dependent on weather, you are going to want to check the park's website or call ahead to make sure they are operating.
