I was freshly 22 and still living in parents basement in North Conway. When I heard about Woodstock '99, I knew I had to be there. My buddy Keith and I bought a package that included a bus trip down and back to Rome, NY and a ticket. I think it was like $250 a piece.

The first day was definitely an adjustment day. I was having a blast but also overwhelmed by the size of the crowd and the grounds. There were a ton of stages, vendors, camping sites etc. It was very easy to get lost. I remember we lost our campsite after pitching our tent, it took us hours to find it.

A weekend of hot weather and $4 bottles of water were wearing on people. It was nearly impossible at times to hydrate. I remember buying a couple of $10 gallons of tap water from a concert goer just to throw over my head to keep me cool. The porta potties were overflowing from not being emptied. The organizers definitely did not plan accordingly for the event and the 225,000 concert goers. It took a toll on people.

Aside from the unfortunate events that went down, it was an amazing weekend of music and meeting new people that I'll never forget.

TODAY also marks the 15th anniversary that The Offspring and Lit drove up from Woodstock to play the Cumberland County Civic Center!
