Prince wrote this one and has performed it on many occasions. Sinead O'Conner took it to #1 in 1990 and Chris Cornell put his own touch on it last year. This one should break out the goosebumps...

Prince reportedly was not fond of this version.  He told Entertainment Weekly that he didn’t appreciate the Foo Fighters (or anyone else) covering his work, and that the Foos should "write their own tunes." Oddly enough, he covered Foo Fighters "Best Of You" at the Superbowl shortly after in 2007. Was he a fan or was it retaliation? I guess we'll never know.

Incubus became known for breaking this one out during their lives sets. They eventually recorded a studio version of it that would end up on their 2 CD greatest hits set "Monuments and Melodies."

This just happened last night (Thursday.) Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour kicked off his solo show, in Minneapolis (Prince's hometown and where he passed away), with an amazing cover of Purple Rain, with plenty of help from the crowd.

The two man band Local H most known for their tune "Bound for the Floor" covered Prince's 1985 tune "Pop Life", with a guitar driven twist.

Here's the setlist from last week in Atlanta from what would be his final show...
