Maine microbreweries have a new player in the game that is planning to open up shop in Gloucester.

According to the Sun Journal, Russell Voss of New Gloucester has been a home brewer for 20 years and now is going to share his skills with the public as NU Brewing.

Voss got approval by the New Gloucester planning board to redeveloping a vacant building at 437 Lewiston Road in New Gloucester into a brewery with a 52-seat tasting room.

No word yet on a timetable for opening, but keep your eye out as you drive by the former Oliver Store on Lewiston Road as the area gets transformed into what is likely to become a popular destination.
