It's the most wonderful time of the year.

No, not Christmas...playoff hockey. The Bruins are back for their eighth playoff appearance in 10 years.

Something about hockey in the late spring and early summer just feels so right. It's light outside while watching a game, you can walk downtown for a cold pop during periods, and playoff hockey game play is just different.

With round one, game one, against the Carolina Hurricanes taking place tonight, May 2, 2022, the Bruins released a hype video to get the fans fired up.

The video worked for me, as I got chills half way through. Yes, because I am a huge Bruins fan, but also the structure of the video made me feel connected to a lot of different people in New England.

One man in particular stood out to me, almost as if I had seen him before.

This man is Alan Potvin. Growing up in Lawrence, MA and living in Goffstown, NH, most of his life, Alan could be considered one of the biggest Boston Bruins fans in New England.

After moving to York, ME, two years ago, I would venture to say he is the biggest fan in the state of Maine.

Alan was first recognized in 2013 when the Boston Herald used a photo of him, in his bear suit, with the headline "Bruins Fans Won't Bear a Grudge," check out the image here.

In 2015, Alan Potvin did a commercial for the bruins and was quoted "it's my job to help the Bruins."

Years later, same bear suit, same fan.
