What started as a pipe dream has swiftly become a reality in Portland, Maine. The city will play host to a significant outdoor music and arts festival this summer with headlining acts and a whole lot of questions still be answered.

According to the festival website, it was announced that Jack White and Lord Huron would headline the Back Cove Music and Arts Festival in August at Payson Park. Both artists are familiar to Portland, having performed at other venues in the city recently.

Other Musical Acts Lined Up For The Back Cove Music and Arts Festival

Beyond Jack White and Lord Huron, there are some other intriguing acts that will be part of the inaugural outdoor festival. That includes Andre 3000 of Outkast, Turnpike Troubadours, Lucy Dacus as well as St. Paul and the Broken Bones.

Lord Huron will be the headlining act on Saturday with Jack White closing out the festival on Sunday. The full band listing for both days of the event can be found here.

Music Won't Be The Only Part of the Back Cove Music and Arts Festival

Having art be part of the name of the festival is intentional. Organizers plan to put a spotlight on local artists during the two day event. There's also a plan to have food trucks and some other surprises for people who attend the event.

There does remain some questions and skepticism over parking and traffic flow through the area during the two day event.

How Do You Get Tickets For the Back Cove Music and Arts Festival?

As of this writing, there's a presale active until March 5. Starting on March 6, tickets will go on sale to the general public. Purchasers can grab a single day ticket or a two day pass.
