2018 was a breakout year for Bad Wolves. The band released their debut album, Disobey, which spawned the hit cover of The Cranberries’ “Zombie,” and the follow-up hit “Hear Me Now,” featuring Diamante. 2019 is gearing up to be another banner year for the rockers, who have been working on the follow-up to Disobey.

In an interview with Front Row Live Entertainment in Beverly Hills, Calif. earlier this week, frontman Tommy Vext gave an update on the group’s forthcoming second album. “What we did, basically, is in the down time of last year, we would record a few songs here and there on the weeks we had off. So now were coming into this year," revealed Vext. "[Drummer] John [Boecklin] just finished in the studio in Vegas, and we’re 21 songs into the new record, of which I have sang only three. So I’ve got work to do.”

The band toured with Five Finger Death Punch three times last year and also opened for Three Days Grace, Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin and Nothing More. Vext says sharing the stage with those groups has opened doors for the group, “Having bands of that caliber kind of recognizing and supporting newer bands and their talent was completely essential to the success of our record."

In August, Bad Wolves' "Zombie" became the first platinum rock song of 2018 in the United States. Vext says the cover catapulted the band into the stratosphere and that “no one could have predicted” that the song would become “an inter-generational viral hit.”

Back in October, the group announced a crowdfunding campaign for their Breaking the Band documentary, which promises an "uncensored peek into the meteoric rise from an unknown band to multi-platinum status within six months."
