A recognizable name in the Portland, Maine, food scene is about to disappear.

Bao Bao Dumpling House, which operated in Portland for many years, moved the restaurant and all of the delicious offerings it was known for to Brunswick last year.

At the time, Bao Bao Dumpling House said the move was necessary because of staffing shortages.

Just over a year since that announcement, Bao Bao Dumpling House is now closing for good, being absorbed into another restaurant concept.

Bao Bao Dumpling House is holding its final dinner service on Saturday, September 27 at its Brunswick, Maine, location.

The current space that Bao Bao Dumpling House operates in will be transitioned into an event space.

They announced the decision on social media while giving fans of the restaurant some hope that many of their favorites will be sticking around despite the Bao Bao name being put to rest.

Bao Bao Will Be Folded Into Zaoze Cafe and Market

On Wednesday, October 1, Zaoze Cafe and Market will have a grand reopening that will reflect some of the changes made under one roof.

Zaoze will offer breakfast and lunch as well market goods. Both breakfast and lunch will be counter service.

Bao Bao fans will be happy to hear that Zaoze will also offer table service dinner that will feature much of what made Bao Bao Dumpling House so popular.

According to Portland Food Map, this new concept will help Eighty Ate Hospitality operate more efficiently.
