You know you've really created something when your brand becomes synonymous with the city it operates in.

That is the case with Baxter Brewing, which launched in Lewiston, Maine, about 15 years ago and has been a staple of the city since.

Baxter's brewpub has become a draw for visitors to the twin cities and the brewery just got done hosting the 10th annual Great Falls Brewfest.

Even with all of that sustained success, many breweries would quietly admit that the craft beer action remains in Portland, Maine, versus anywhere else. Which is why Baxter Brewing has decided to put their foot in the door.

According to MaineBiz, Baxter Brewing has set up an outpost at Thompson's Point in the former Sacred Profane space. Baxter opened the outpost on August 15 and expects to stay open through the holiday season.

For the Thompson's Point concert season, the Baxter Outpost is hosting a series of pre-show concerts for music lovers to gather at their space and enjoy even more music.

The Baxter Outpost will serve up the familiar favorites as part of the breweries line but it will also feature some small batch beers that haven't been offering in Portland before.

You can find more information on the Baxter Outpost entertainment schedule and what beers you can find there here.
