The 10th annual Southern Maine Coastal Classic is just a couple weeks away and this year it's at a new location.

The four day event will take place at the Cumberland Fairgrounds this year, the dog show will be held from May 16th through the 19th beginning each day at 8am, rain or shine.

This isn't like the Westminster Dog Show, it's more than just a beauty contest. They also have obedience and rally competitions to show how well trained the pup is, and how much effort the owner put in to training.

Different activities will take place each day as an estimated 730 dogs a day will be participating, reports the Sun Journal, in events such as the National Owner Handled Series, a non titling competition which allows owners and their dogs to compete against peers in their respective breeds,  the Best Puppy Extravaganza, in which all puppies entered in the 6 to 9 months and 9 to 12 months categories are eligible to compete for Best of Breed Puppy, a Junior Showmanship Competition all four days open to children 9 to 18 years old, and so much more.
