Maine Could See Some Serious Heat For Several Days Next Week
We've all heard the old saying "April showers bring May flowers". It's used in Maine a lot during the month of April to fight a different sort of seasonal depression. The depression where it feels warmer but you still can't see or feel the sun.
This April in Maine was definitely rainy but the month was also very cloudy. Maine saw an above-average amount of cloudy days in April this year meaning the very patient people of the Pine Tree State have been waiting for a string of sunny and warm days as a pay off.
If the long range forecast holds, they're about to get them.
Forecast Models Suggest Several Days of Sunshine and Heat For Maine Next Week
As this week continues to be nothing but showers and clouds, the long range forecast for next week should give everyone in Maine a little hope.
The hope starts on Monday, where the forecast calls for the clouds to burn away and for temperatures to live around 70 degrees. Tuesday looks like it will cool off a little bit but after is when the fun could really begin.
GFS Model Calls For a Mini-Heat Wave For Maine
Believe it or not, the average temperature for the first half of the month of May in Maine is about 62 degrees. If the GFS forecast model is correct for the back half of next week, a small heat wave is coming.
From Wednesday through Friday, the GFS is calling for sunny skies and very warm temperatures with the entire state see mid-70's and some portions of Maine potentially reaching 80.
