The husband and wife duo behind the restaurant worked at a pair of Portland's most prominent restaurants, Eventide and Leeward.

Taking their shared knowledge and expertise, they opened Fish & Whistle in 2022, bringing a small but mighty menu that puts the focus on fresh seafood with a mix of classic and unique menu options.

That included the unique "squidwich". which is Maine-caught squid, scored and fried, served with a milk bread bun and tartar.

The Takeout also loved Fish & Whistle's fish chowder which is made with poached fish, clam stock, bacon and thyme.

And of course there's the signature dish at Fish & Whistle, the fish and chips. It comes in three different sizes all served with their malt vinegar fries.
