A Terrifying Maine Haunted House Will Be Taking Over a Former Furniture Store
As the realities of fall begin to set in, so too is the realization that Halloween is creeping closer. Here in Maine, what comes along with Halloween is a handful of haunted attractions across the state.
One of the scariest haunts last year was the transformation of an old school in Livermore Falls into a bone-chilling haunted house. The attraction ended up being so popular that lines of people showed up for the exclusive weekend event.
The United Way is back and ready to scare again in 2023, but this time, they're taking their haunted house to an old furniture store at 128 Weld Road in Wilton that was once part of the Bass shoe complex. The property is currently for sale, as listed by Coldwell Banker Homes.
Despite the venue change, the Halls of Horror are set to return, offering up some of the most frightening scares that you'll find at any Halloween-themed event in New England.
There's going to be a handful of changes for Halls of Horror for 2023. The first change will be the addition of another weekend of frights. Shared on Facebook, Halls of Horror will once again take place on Friday and Saturday nights on October 13-14, 20-21, and 27-28.
The other big change is that visitors can now buy a VIP hall pass. The VIP pass is pricier, but includes some great perks like a pair of complimentary drinks, a souvenir lanyard, and the ability to get bumped to the front of line on whichever night you visit.
The VIP Hall Pass will also up the ante when you pass through the Halls of Horror by giving you the option to be touched by some of the actors to increase the fright levels.
Halls of Horror warns that their haunted house this year will not be for the squeamish. It is recommended for ages 13 and older only.
