It’s Over On ‘Jeopardy!’ For The Wicked Smart Librarian From Maine
Jessica Garsed's reign as "Jeopardy!" champion has come to an end, after a 3-night winning streak. The librarian from Augusta just couldn't pull through with another win on Thursday. Garsed played against Geoff Duncan and Cara Moretto. It was Duncan who defeated her. He will be back on the show tonight.
Garsed walks away from the game show with a final total of $52,200 after losing everything but a dollar in the Final Jeopardy round, due to an overconfident bet.
Garsed has many fans because she is not only humble, but also "quiet, unassuming, and wicked smart" as one viewer described her. That fan base includes some former coworkers who actually encouraged Garsed to audition for the show.
