A South Paris man is facing charges after he allegedly stole a truck from a Norway, Maine, auto dealership.

According to a press release from the Norway Police Department, at about 4:45 on Thursday afternoon, they were alerted by the Oxford County Regional Communications Center that Lee Auto in Norway was reporting that a man had taken one of their trucks from the lot.

The man reportedly left the lot and was traveling south on Route 26 at a high rate of speed.

A BOLO order was issued for the vehicle, which was spotted by law enforcement and civilians several times over the next twenty minutes.

At about 5:05 p.m., it was reported that the truck had been found crashed on Johson Hill Road in Poland.

Minutes after the truck was found, members of various agencies, including the Mechanic Falls Police Department, Oxford Police Department, and Androscoggin County Sheriff's Department were on the scene to conduct a search for the alleged thief.

By 5:30, K9 units from the Oxford County Sheriff's Department and Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, along with a UAV team, had joined the search.

At about 6 o'clock, a man matching the description of the person who stole the truck (based on security camera footage) was spotted attempting to hide near a boat in a yard.  The man, identified as 39-year-old Grover Harmon, of South Paris, was arrested and charged with stealing the vehicle.  He was also booked on two outstanding warrants.

Additional charges could be forthcoming.
