A brand new speakeasy is coming to the the corner of Ash Street and 152 Lisbon Street in Lewiston, according to the Sun Journal.

My first visit to one of our cities covert and modern speakeasies called Sonder and Dram on 12 Ash Street remains etched in my memory as an epic experience.

It was an absolute delight to step into this underground, esoteric spot where the prohibition of fun only intensifies the desire to rebel. If you're seeking a secret bar that radiates intrigue and makes breaking the 'fun law' irresistible, Sonder and Dram is the perfect spot for you.

I can't wait to explore the newest one. We do not know yet when this new speakeasy will be open and there isn't much information on the style or type of food and beverage, but we do have some details.

What we know is...

The project is under the management of RDS Architects in Portland. The owner is EAT Holdings from Westbrook, as the article states.

According to the article, the project will have the addition of a new residence within the office space on the 2nd floor, and this new speakeasy bar will be on the ground floor.

The cost of the renovations has been reported to be $125,000.

What makes this a good addition to our city?

Speakeasy-style bars are popping up and gaining traction because of the trendy popularity of the style of bar.

To me, it's enticing and exciting to step into a place that represents a certain period of time where you had to hide to have fun, and there is something sexy about that.

Lower Lisbon Street has been a project-in-progress, adding new businesses for a while now. It's so refreshing to see that the innovation is continuing in our bustling downtown area.

We will be waiting patiently to experience this new and fun addition to our city!
