The highly anticipated River of Trees returns to downtown Augusta, Maine, and kicks off this weekend!

Grab your holiday spirit and experience a festive event for the entire family. The magical event runs from November 29th at 10 AM to December 1st at 3 PM, as per the event page. It is truly a beloved annual event and will be a standout event to start this holiday season in the Capital City.

This year’s theme is inspired by the classic we all know and love, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Misfit Toys. This will give you a magical experience to wander through a winter wonderland of decorated trees.

The event is a fundraiser and the proceeds will support various community initiatives. It also brings together families and friends to celebrate the season of perpetual hope!

This is more than just a row of magical decorated trees, it's a weekend packed with fun activities.

Augusta will be popping this weekend! On Saturday, the event happenings during two major local events: the City of Augusta’s annual tree-lighting ceremony and Small Business Saturday. It’s a perfect time to shop local and visit the tree lighting after!

A very special guest will make an appearance on Friday at Noon: Santa Claus!

The event schedule is as follows:

  • Friday, November 29: 10 AM – 8 PM
  • Saturday, November 30: 10 AM – 8 PM
  • Sunday, December 1: 10 AM – 3 PM

Those who make this event possible are Lajoie Brothers ConstructionCentral Maine Power, and Kennebec Savings Bank. The City of Augusta also plays a huge role in bringing this event to life, and the Augusta Downtown Alliance is proud to organize this much-loved fundraiser.
