Calling all Maine kiddos! This Summer Adventure Program is the perfect fit for any Maine child who is super into animals.

Now, we all know Mr. Drew and His Animals Too, a Lewiston-based nonprofit that educates people on animals.

The first time I visited Mr. Drew's place, I had the opportunity to learn about creatures I usually find a bit unsettling. I even got to hold a tarantula. Despite its size, Mr. Drew's insights into its nature and behavior completely changed my perspective on spiders. Did you know that if I had accidentally dropped the spider, it would have splattered on the ground like an egg? It's not the most pleasant image to imagine, but it's a fact!

According to the post,

Mr. Drew’s Animal Education Center will be hosting a summer program for 6 weeks this summer and each week at Mr. & Mrs. Drew’s Summer Adventure we will have a different theme that highlights a different aspect of our Education Center.

Each child will get to spend all day surrounded by animals while learning through all five senses! There will be arts and crafts, experiments, and special events each week to make new memories for your child in a completely unique summer experience. Please see below for the dates and themes of each week. Children K-8th grade are welcome! Spots are limited so register today!

If your child is amazed by animals, this would be a great opportunity for them to learn more and expand their knowledge. Mr. Drew has so much to offer and teach.

As the post states, the program runs from 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Thursday, with an early release at 1:00pm on Fridays.

The kids will receive snacks, and lunch will also be included on Fridays.

Families are invited to enjoy a pizza party lunch on Fridays, and explore the center with their child in the afternoon at no cost.

According to the post, each day includes free time, arts and crafts, science experiments, movement breaks, guest speakers, animal presentations, and more! Mr. Drew has invited families to an open house on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, to learn about the program rules and address any questions.
