Stella the Leaf-Jumping Dog Returns to Celebrate Fall in Maine

Maine’s coolest dog is ready to have a great fall season!

The best time of the year is finally here. As you will notice when you look out the window, the leaves are changing color, which means Stella The Dog is ready to tear it up in her backyard.

Like her fellow State of Maine canine, Tatum, pets are proving that anyone can be a social media superstar.

Stella is an energetic, English yellow lab, that lives with her family in Freeport, Maine. Stella is a legit star, who is so famous, she has her own YouTube Channel, with more than 151,000 subscribers.

A Facebook page, with 713,000 followers.

She is on TikTok too, where she has over 802,000 followers! And combined, the views on her videos, total 46.9 million! Incredible.

And her Instagram page has 988,000 followers.

Stella absolutely loves being outside, especially when there are humongous piles of leaves on the ground. Watching her run like she was shot out of a cannon, then fly through the air into an awe-inspiring mountain of leaves is just endlessly entertaining.

Best of all, there are no sound effects or music in the video clips, so you can hear Stella smash through them with the greatest of ease.

Stella’s leaf‑jumping tradition goes back to when she was a puppy. Her owner, Jody Hartman, first noticed her launching herself into freshly raked piles of leaves without any prompt.

Jody doesn’t just rake leaves and let them sit. He dries leaves with a hair dryer, covers them to keep them dry, “fluffs” them, etc., so that the leaf pile is perfect for Stella’s dives.

She’s been jumping into leaves every autumn for about nine years now. Even as an older dog, her enthusiasm hasn’t really dimmed.
