Maine Airport Adding Food Truck Court in 2026
When people think about airports in Maine, they typically focus in on two cities, Bangor and Portland.
Those two places are home to the state's largest commercial airports. In fact, the Portland International Jetport set a record for passengers in 2025 exceeding 2.5 million.
But for many years, neither Portland nor Bangor has been home to the 'busiest' airport in Maine.
That title has belonged to the Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport. The Sanford, Maine, airport has been a hub for corporate flights, flight training and general aviation.
And it's about to become home to something else unique.
Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport Looking to Add Food Truck Court in 2026
According to Sanford Springvale News, the Sanford, Maine, airport is looking to remedy a dining problem for the busy season this year.
Pilot's Cove Cafe has closed permanently and will be temporarily replaced by the Southern Maine Aviation flight school for most of this year as they build out a permanent residence elsewhere on the airport grounds.
Rather than the airport becoming a food and drink desert. airport leaders would like to do something unique. Add a food truck court.
The Sanford, Maine, Airport Food Truck Court Would Be Open to the Public
As the Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport looks to fill in the available slots for their food truck court this year, one crucial detail has been revealed.
The Food Truck Court will be situated at the airport to allow for the public to visit. One of the small joys of visiting the airport was grabbing a bite to eat and watching planes take off and land.
Despite not having a permanent dining option, the Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport wants to maintain that option for those that simply love aviation.
