Did You Know You Can Hire Someone in Maine to Pick Up Your Dog’s Poop?

I'll admit it... I was today years old when I learned this was a thing. 

It all started because my wife and I were doing what married couples do best—casually gossiping. We were talking about someone we know who, let's just say, treats their backyard like a permanent dog bathroom. 

That's when my wife casually said, "They could just hire a company." 

I laughed and said, "A company... for dog poop?" 

She looked at me like I was the weird one. 

Apparently, there are businesses whose entire job is showing up at your house every week to scoop your dog's poop. And my brain immediately started asking important questions. 

"So wait... they literally park the truck, get out, and just... wander around the yard looking for poop?" 

"Yep." 

I honestly couldn't stop laughing. It's one of those jobs you never think exists until someone tells you it does. 

Then I mentioned it on the 949WHOM Morning Show.

Within minutes, our phone lines started blowing up. Listeners were messaging me, and one call came from a local Androscoggin County company called the Doo Doo Dudes of Maine.

Even better? One of the guys was literally listening to us while he was out on his poop route.

Turns out, this isn't just for people who don't want to do it. It's a genuinely helpful service for seniors, people with disabilities, busy families, and anyone physically unable to keep up with yard cleanup.

They offer weekly or one-time cleanups starting at around $25 per visit and serve Lewiston, Auburn, and surrounding communities.  

So now I have to ask... 

Did you know this was a thing? 

Because apparently everyone knew except me. 

And honestly? The older I get, the more I realize there really is someone out there willing to do just about any job. 

Even if it's a crappy one.
