Angelo’s Pizzeria in Lisbon, Maine, Re-Opens Under New Management
When I lived in Lisbon, Maine, in the mid-2000s, Angelo's Pizza was my go-to pizza place in town. The owners were super nice, the pizza was amazing, and at one point, they even had a small arcade in the back with a couple of pinball machines. Pizza and pinball make me a very happy guy.
My son still lives in Lisbon with his mother, and I pick him up every weekend to get in his hours on his driving permit and to play at our weekly pinball league meet. When we drove past Angelo's in October, it was dark, so I asked him what happened. He told me they closed for some renovations.
Then the big announcement that they would not re-open was posted on Facebook the next day.
I got a Facebook message last week from Kristo Papailia, who had read the original article about the closing. He told me that he and his family have re-opened Angelo's as the new management. They've made some changes to the store, and said "You're gonna be more than happy with the changes we have done, how clean and nice the store is again."
When I drove by this week, there were balloons out front to celebrate the grand re-opening, and the parking lot looked busy. Lots of people were returning to their local pizza place after months of being without it.
Best of luck to you and your family, Kristo. Glad to see you putting some new life into Angelo's.
