Portland’s Easter Egg Hunt is Back With Over 10,000 Eggs to Find
Portland, Maine, is having its Easter Egg Hunt at Payson Park again this year.
Hundreds of kids had a blast at Portland's first-ever Easter Egg Hunt at Payson Park, so they are bringing it back! This is a free event for Portland residents only, but you have to register to participate. It's limited to 400 kids ages one to 10. The fun is on Saturday, March 30 (the rain date) from 10 am to 12 pm. You will see March 23 in advertisements. That was before it was supposed to snow!
Families are encouraged to come and support the little egg hunters and have fun, but keep the doggy at home. The event lasts from 10 am to 12 pm, with the egg hunt around 10:15! Get there early to get your tote bag to collect your goodies!
Watching the kids run out in stages was so much fun last year! It was truly the release of the hounds!
Kids have to be checked in first and given their tote bags to gather up the eggs. You can recycle the egg, but anything inside is all yours! There are also 'golden eggs' that can be exchanged for prizes when found!
You can also take your picture with Portland's very own Bubba the Bunny! Each little one will be able to gather 20 eggs. There's face painting, a sidewalk chalk area, potato sack racing with "Tater", and more.
Registration is free, but required, so hop to it. And again, it's for Portland residents only. So if your nephew is in Portland and doing this and you live in Lewiston, please still come and root them on! But the egg hunt is only for Portland kiddos. Lori Voornas from 94.9 HOM will be there to play music and have fun with everyone! And she'll be handing out cool certified solar eclipse glasses, while supplies last!
