Here Are My Top 3 Choices of Who Has the Best Fries in Portland, Maine

National potato day is August 19, 2024, but this is a debate that can live on any day of the year. Who's got the best french fries in town? Now I'll be honest, I naturally audible to McDonald's on my Sunday scaries days, because calories don't count when you're in the middle of a scaries crisis. Outside of Micky D's, I've got some opinions on who serves the best fries in Portland, but want to see if you agree with me anyways.

1. Mash-tun on Wharf Street. Do not try to fight me on this one. First of all, the cooks fry them right in front of you, so it's built-in entertainment. Second of all, the grease-to-potato ratio is un-matched.

2. 3 Dollar Dewey's. This place is my old stomping grounds as a bartender, and they never miss. They're fresh every time you order them, and they're the closest to tasting like the elite McDonald's fries.

3. Nonesuch Brewery. The parmesan truffle dusted fries will send you to heaven if you're a truffle lover. I discovered them a few months back, so I'm actually unsure if they still have them on the menu, but I'm sure they do.
